Lakeside

A lonely cabin on a deserted island in the middle of a lake. Once home to a happy family the island was abandoned with no explination. After hearing haunting noises our hero finds himself rowing to the island to investigate.

 

Lakeside is a small project I created in 6 weeks in 2015 as part of a college assignment, the game was built in unreal engine. As the player explores the island and interacts with different objects on the map the sky gets darker and darker. When the player eventually reaches the cabin thunder rumbles in the distance and rain begins to fall. Finally once the player enters the cabin the door locks behind them and they are unable to leave until they enter one of the bedrooms and interact with the bed.

Matinee to control the change in weather. Once the triggerbox is entered fog particle effects would move into place above the level and the light intensity would drop making the sky overcast and gloomy.

The sky darkens as the player approaches the cabin.

The interior of the cabin is dark and dusty with only old furnature inside. Interacting with this bed would trigger a cutscene and the game ends.
